Hi Folks,

Next August the 2009 National Senior Games http://www.2009seniorgames.org/ will be held in the SF Bay Area and will include a sailing competition in Lasers to be hosted by the StFYC.  I’ve volunteered to help the organizers a bit with the event.   For now they are trying to get a very preliminary idea of how many competitors might show up.   Anyone born before December 31, 1958 is eligible!

The currently scheduled date for this one day regatta is Friday, August 7th.   The StFYC will do regatta management with races most likely held just off the City Front.   Assume the entry fee will be $50 or so to cover race management, trophies and the StFYC’s usual hospitality (buffet and no-host bar) at the end of the day.    Competitors would also be invited to participate in the opening and closing ceremonies for the overall competition.

Question – Does this sound like something you’d like to compete in?   Am especially interested to hear from those of you outside the SF Bay Area.   Would you venture here for a one day competition at “the best place on earth to sail a Laser”.  J

Hope to see you in a few days at the North Americans!

Thanks,

Walt
