[Masters] 2009 National Senior Games - Racing in Lasers

Hi Folks,

 

Next August the 2009 National Senior Games http://www.2009seniorgames.org/ will be held in the SF Bay Area and will include a sailing competition in Lasers to be hosted by the StFYC.  I’ve volunteered to help the organizers a bit with the event.   For now they are trying to get a very preliminary idea of how many competitors might show up.   Anyone born before December 31, 1958 is eligible!

 

The currently scheduled date for this one day regatta is Friday, August 7^th.   The StFYC will do regatta management with races most likely held just off the City Front.   Assume the entry fee will be $50 or so to cover race management, trophies and the StFYC’s usual hospitality (buffet and no-host bar) at the end of the day.    Competitors would also be invited to participate in the opening and closing ceremonies for the overall competition.

 

Question – Does this sound like something you’d like to compete in?   Am especially interested to hear from those of you outside the SF Bay Area.   Would you venture here for a one day competition at “the best place on earth to sail a Laser”.  J
