Got the same problem here when trying to migrate from Dovecot v1.1.14
to Google Apps email using larch v1.0.2.

Here's the last part of the output:

*** START ***
[Sep 03 09:47:26] [info] he...@example.com@imap.gmail.com: creating
mailbox: INBOX/Local Councils/Zejtun Local Council
[Sep 03 09:47:26] [info] he...@example.com@imap.gmail.com:
Net::IMAP::NoResponseError: Folder name is not allowed. (Failure)
(will retry)
[Sep 03 09:47:27] [info] he...@example.com@imap.gmail.com:
Net::IMAP::NoResponseError: Folder name is not allowed. (Failure)
(will retry)
[Sep 03 09:47:30] [info] he...@example.com@imap.gmail.com:
Net::IMAP::NoResponseError: Folder name is not allowed. (Failure)
(will retry)
[Sep 03 09:47:33] [fatal] Net::IMAP::NoResponseError: Folder name is
not allowed. (Failure) (giving up)
[Sep 03 09:47:33] [info] 0 message(s) copied, 0 failed, 706 untouched
out of 706 total
*** END ***

I had noticed that changing the name of the folder permits the
creation. Just rerunning the script causes the failure at the same
point each time.

Regs.

Iain.

This has been reported a few times, I just haven't had time to
investigate yet. I suspect it's related to Gmail folder names that
contain spaces (obviously).

I can confirm that the same folder names transfer using imapsync.

Until I have time to fix the bug or someone submits a patch, renaming
the folders may be your only option.
