I walk past the same pond in Mawdesley 2 or 3 times each day with the
dog - always on the lookout for dragonflies so far this year only
damselflies - azures and blue-tails - then at last yesterday afternoon
2 x four spotted chasers. The dragonflies seem to be far fewer and
far later in the year than I can remember (there are loads of
damselflies as usual) Are the dragonflies fewer in lancashire this
year?

The anisopterans are about a month later starting.

I haven't noticed any difference in numbers of Large Red Damselflies.

The pond usually has a few large reds - but non this year - perhaps it is just this pond - maybe something happened to it

Perhaps.

I would reply with a more detailed analyses of all my personal
observations in Lancashire this season, but there is a MUCH better
way.

And that is to go to http://www.livingrecord.net/ and press the Join
button. As soon as you have your id, log-in, and view the distribution
maps to see what has been recorded so far.

It will only be my records at the moment. We REALLY ought to be all
using this. After my first day of usage, I wrote to Adrian (the
developer) saying it fulfilled my every dream for a recording system.
Since then, I have thought of several new functions that would be nice
(it's even possible to improve on your wildest dreams, once you start
having them realized), only to discover that they were already
implemented.

So PLEASE, eveyone give it a try, and report back on your experiences.
