New format on the website, and posting messages

 Google have introduced a new version of GoogleGroups, so the website looks a little different.
Looking at the help, I learned that you can only post messages to this group via the website, if you are logged in with a Google account. However any member of the group can post messages using ordinary email facilities (I think a few people were confused over this - probably my fault, as i didn't realise until today that there was a difference).
