Allen Holmes and I are thinking of visiting Sweden in August to see species such as Azure Hawkers, Baltic Hawker, Green Hawker and Bog Hawkers, Brilliant Emerald, Yellow-spotted and Northern Emeralds, and others. It will be a guided tour by http://www.birdsafari.se/.

Cost for guiding would be about £150/day for the party as a whole. So price depends upon the number of people going. Accomodation would be on top of that. B&B costs about £35/day.

Lastminute.com currently showing cheapest return prices from Manchester airport around £158 - £210 for the first week of August (travelling mid-week).

If anyone else is interested, please contact me (colinpa...@gmail.com) offline.

It looks like it will now be at the end of June, beginning of July.
Lots of Whiteface species likely.

Graham Gavaghan  has had a male Black Tailed Skimmer at Lower Towneley Scrape,Burnley today July 15th 2013.
This is only the 3rd East Lancs record that I know of.If anyone knows of any others,I would be pleased to hear of them.
The species is having an excellent year at Brockholes Preston.Whilst it has not reached the numbers that could be seen in the mid 2000`s it is possible to see 15 in a day at present.
The reserve is having an excellent season for many species of Odonata this year.
Min 17 Emperors were seen July 7th and we are hoping to do a co ordinated count this month.
           Allen Holmes.
