FYI - there will be a free big screen showing of
"16-R" at the Airtel Plaza Hotel, 7277 Valjean Ave.,
Van Nuys, on Thursday, 4/24 at 6:30 p.m. For non-
pilots the name of the movie is "One-Six-Right. "
That's the long runway at Van Nuys. The short parallel
runway is 16-L (left.) "One-Six Right" is a
wonderfully filmed documentary of the Van Nuys Airport
from the days it was just a bean field to the
international airport it is today. Van Nuys Airport
is the busiest general aviation airport in the US, and
probably the world. The film is shot in HD with
beautiful music to accompany the story and fantastic
history of the Van Nuys Airport. Park on the street to
avoid the parking fee at the Airtel.
