When applying for a job via email, should the body of the email
essentially be your cover letter, or should the cover be attached as a
separate document? Opinions?

I like to keep it simple, email as the cover and resume attached in txt
and doc and named as the individual so I don't have to rename resume.txt
500 times.

just wondering what the industry protocol was for this.

cheers

What is everyones opinion on submitting resumes as PDF?

If the body of my email is essentially my cover letter and my resume
is professionally formated in PDF would that not be the best simplest
and most professional way?

Not necessarily: some companies want them in word processor format (ie.
Word), so they can scan into a database.

Always go with what companies ask for.
