Hey everyone,

I know this is a really long shot but thought I'd try my luck. We just ran out of gas and need a refill but are having difficulty finding any! We need a refill of baba gas or in the worst case scenario, are willing to buy a new gas bottle. Does anyone know anyone that has gas???!! Thanks so much in advance.

Hi soph
Namaste
If you are desperate for gas then I would suggest you to go at kalimati salt trading company upon your request where they can provide stc gas with new bottle at Nrs 3500 only. Thanks

Hello,

Just curious as to how many foreigners have been able to buy gas since the shortage ended.....and I don't mean foreigners who have sent their didi out for them, I mean people who have physically gone to the gas shop themselves? Have you been able to buy at normal prices, or is it inflated? Can you buy properly, or are you paying extra to move up the list?

For me, I have my name on 2 lists, but keep getting told "15 days" all the time. However, there is the option to spend an extra 1500rps and get a cannister. Are other people finding the same problems?

I kept being told that it was in a couple of weeks, then about 4 days, then a couple of days.  It did come a few days after.  Was told to be at the shop by 8:30 am as the truck was coming.  It took all day for the truck to arrive and we were told that if we left before the truck came, we might lose our place in line.  I offered a "tip"  if I could go home and then if he would call me, but he wouldn't take it. When the truck did come at 4:30 pm, the police got theirs first ( 4 cylinders).  Then utter pandemonium.  But I did get it that day and no surcharge.  I've since brought in two more empties and have been told it is a 2 month waiting list for Nepal Gas company. I may have a particularly honest distributor in my area.

Same here, we are on a list for two different companies. Things have not yet normalized, despite reports of GoN crackdowns on the black market. To JG, in general, it always best to let didi take care of this (the bill will be lower).

Thanks for the replies Kelly and Jigs-y, seems like we've got another month or so before getting back to a sense of normal. Jigs, I have no didi, so it's just a brave new world out there for me....!

I came back to Boudha about 6 wks ago, just after the shortage officially ended. I saw a man on a bicycle with two full Nepal Gas bottles. He did an exchange on the spot and I paid 2000 for it, happy to do so and not have the headache. This was inside the korra area. He was a regular delivery boy.
