In a stunning Tibetan monastery nestled in the Himalayan foothills outside Kathmandu valley, join these three transformational days to discover Yoga as the harmony of the mind, body and soul; to delve into Yoga philosophy and psychology; and to explore Yoga’s practical tools to bring integration and joyful balance into the various dimensions of our lives.
Enjoy morning and afternoon sessions of yoga, explore Yoga theory and philosophy, revive with wonderful food, relax with a favourite book and new friends among the beautiful grounds, find peace with a guided evening meditation, and take an introduction into Buddhism from the monastery’s highest teacher.
On this retreat we will, under the guidance of Isabel, explore why and how the mind matters most.
‘The mind is everything. What we think, we become.’ The Buddha
Isabel: "As human beings we have received the gift of self-awareness. But today’s lifestyle is such that we get bombarded and distracted constantly by outside matters, events, people. We hardly take the time to sit back and reflect, on who we are and what we need, trying to cope with all the expectations of work, family, society. And most of us run away from this alone time, too much scared to face our emotions, for we think we are those emotions. We loose touch withour instinct, feeling tired and numb at times. Desire, anger, hatred, jealousy, sadness…. So many feelings come up that we can hardly understand, and that’s when we can easily be overpowered by them.
Mind is that powerful tool that manages our consciousness. Mind makes us react to those feelings in different ways, if we are unaware, and those reactions keep us trapped in the dramas of life. Misery is there outside, always. Such is life. But depending on how we as individuals react to what comes to us, we can change a situation into something more positive, and we can become more peaceful.
This retreat will give time and space to look at what our mind is, and how we can find ways to take back the power over our mind.
For a wild mind is a dangerous thing that can kill us, but a balanced mind will enable us to live a truly happy life.
We will practice yoga postures to open our body and feel more relaxed. Introduction to meditation will be given, and we will have several sessions of observing the mind and discuss what we observe.
You will hopefully leave this retreat with more peace of mind and the knowledge that you yourself are master of your life, which will open you doors to more creativity and detachment.
The knowledge shared in this retreat is based on the meditation technique of Vipassana, the teachings of the Buddha relating to the Law of nature."
Isabel is a Sivananda Yoga teacher and Vipassana meditation practitioner. She has attended several Vipassana courses under S.N. Goenka in Nepal and Mongolia. She has herself positively mastered several traumas in her life, and is eager to inspire and share her studies and realizations with her students, for she realized that we are all same in being human, and sharing our struggles of everyday life, we are also responsible of sharing ways out of them, sharing healthy ways towards happiness. She is convinced that everybody carries that beauty and strength inside.
