Dear KtmKtm Group Members, the 2nd Italian Food and Film Festival continues this Tuesday 30th of April at Black Pepper Cafè and Pub in Jamsikhel at 6.00 pm

This we propose a delicious starter, with a very mediterranean taste: Parmiggiana di Melanzane (Aubergine Casserole with Mozzarella cheese) 

then RAVIOLI APERTI, recipe "stolen" from chef Gualtiero Marchesi (*** Michelin). We will garnish with Fresh Ricotta Cheese and crunchy smoked bacon - vegetarian option available!

Dessert: Crostata con la Frutta di Stagione - Fruit custard tart.

The movie chosen for this week is "L‘Armata Brancaleone" by Mario Monicelli, also known as “For Love and Gold or The Incredible Army of Brancaleone”presented at the 1966 Cannes Festival.

Brancaleone (Vittorio Gassman) leads an inept group of Crusaders to the sea in this offbeat war comedy. The Crusaders hope to find a ship that will take them to the Holy Land to reclaim the area for Christianity. The situation allows for plenty of sight gags and ribald humor. Catherine Spaak co-stars with Gassmann in this amusing effort from director Mario Monicelli.

The term Armata Brancaleone is still used today in Italian to define a group of badly assembled and useless people. Brancaleone is an actual historical name, meaning the paw of lions in heraldry jargon.
