Im trying to use krusader and find a strange behavior.

I edit the location in the left pane
I then switch to the right pane using the mouse.
Now my left pane location and actual file contents are inconsistent.
So for now the workaround is that after editing the location I have to
hit return.

Is there no way of avoiding this?

Hi,

what behaviour do you suggest - when should the location bar be reset to the current url ?
When switching panels, refreshing, and maybe other events ?

I guess so...
What is the full set of events which could trigger this??

I have taken a look at how other file managers / browsers (Dolphin,
Konqueror, Nautilus, Firefox) do it, and their behaviour is the same as
Krusader's:
A newly entered url and the contents differ unless the url is confirmed
(by return key or got-to button).
So I prefer to stay consistent with that behaviour.
But I have another idea: The inconsistency could be visually indicated,
for example by displaying the location bar in a different color.

How about giving an option?

After all the others you quote like konqueror, nautilus are not a dual-pane managers and firefox is not for file-browsing at all.
Isn't the whole point of dual-pane managers that we keep switching between panes?

You're right, I didn't properly consider the twin-panel implications.
I suggest resetting the entered url of a panel when it becomes inactive.
Or do you mean that instead the panel should be refreshed to the
entered url (without confirming with return) ?

Yes. I think it should treat a switch to other panel using mouse as though a return was given.

OK, I can make this an option in the future.
For now I'm going with resetting the url on panel-switch.
