Can a member of this group ID tasty fungi from pics? There are
numerous species within 100 yards of my house. The only ones I eat are
boletes. There may be other good eats, but to ID gilled shrooms from
books is not easy.

That's what I'm thinking too.  We are only here for another 2 weeks so if there are any local mushrooms trips around would appreciate knowing!!!  Other than that we will be back next June.  Are the mushrooms good then too?  Sandi

First, get a spore print EVERY TIME. There are many gilled mushrooms
that look similar or the opposite, have many different colorings.
Second, cut it to see if the flesh oozes or stains (turns a different
color). This will also help identify it.
Im no expert, but send a pic and I'll see if I can find it in one of
my books.
