How has Kod development been progressing? Can we expect any upcoming new versions?

I emailed Rasmus Andersson about this yesterday:

I'm in the midst of packing up my life in Stockholm and moving to San
Francisco, thus I've not had much time lately.

is it dead/dying?

mailing list seems to have slowed down and not many commits in the source code..

Certainly seems like it's suffering from the classical "real life" syndrome facing many opensource projects.

But it certainly looks like something so awesome people are going to come back to it :)

At least I certainly plan on doing more commits ...

Hopefully that means there are SF Kod meetups in my future ;)

Is it completely open or the author does has their only branch. I'm
not programmer, but i can help a lot on design and testing.

It's a shame, I'm really enthusiastic about Kod but not much of a C++ programming (only PHP and bits of Java and ActionScript at the moment).

It's not C++. It's Objective-C. Big difference.

Is there no one to carry the torch in the meantime? I defer to Rasmus as the BDFL here, but there are a number of outstanding pull requests that could potentially be triaged by another core contributor in his absence.

Momentum can be hard to regain. I have high hopes for kod.

Just a quick update: there have been six (very interesting) commits today (source: https://github.com/rsms/kod/commits/master). rsms is still on it! I hope many others will, too :)
