performance tricks?

Hi

we're building a first-time knockout UI/app - and Im noticing a lot of delay / lag on some basic actions that are a bit distressing... 

Im not sure if we're doing something bad/wrong or out of line with proper knockout methods.

is there any pointers or tips on what to look for or at first typically?

( or are there any knockout people who can do some performance analysis of an app - along with some recommendations - and whats your rate for that?  )
