Hi there:
The recent NYC Yarn Crawl activity has gotten us a bit sentimental
about the yarn loving community that is such a large part of our
wonderful city. The first NYC Yarn Crawl was a resounding success and
Knitty City caught the wave of enthusiasm, big time. A heartfelt
thank you to all: Our "regulars", the new friends we met, the
terrific companies that helped sponsor this year's crawl and our
fellow retailers throughout the city. We hear there are plans to
make this an annual event, and we are on board again for next year.

We would also like to remind you of some of Knitty City's upcoming
events for the fall season, so here's a quick rundown:
October 16, 5-6PM - FREE!
Madeline Tosh, the yarn producer and colorist extraordinaire, will be
at the shop to discuss her line of yarn and the coloring philosophy
behind it.

October 20, 5-8 PM
"Crochet in Color" Author, Kathryn Merrick, will be at Knitty City
for a Master Class. Kathryn will be teaching the color strategy &
techniques that went into creating the lovely Koigu scarf featured in
her book. Her original color combination will be available at the
store, as will suggestions for additional color combos that we think
might catch your eye. Since the store is closed to the public on
Master Class Tuesdays, there will be plenty of time for private
shopping and consultation. Sign up as soon as possible since Kathryn
will only be here on that Tuesday! Reminder: Koigu is the Yarn of
the Month in October so there is a 10% discount on all Koigu stock.
Fee is $60.00

October 22, 6-8PM - FREE!
Betty Balcomb will be on hand to discuss the tips and tricks that
have inspired so many new knitters and helped others grow into
intermediate and advanced status. (This is also Betty's last class at
KC, since she's moving West, so be sure not to miss this opportunity
to learn from her.)

October 27, 5-9 PM
Shirely Paden's first workshop, "The Finishing Touch" has sold out,
as has the same class on November 17th. We're already taking
reservations for a class in January, so give us a call and let us know
if you're interested. Due to the 4 hour duration, the fee for
Shirley's class is $75.00

Novmber Offerings
LILY CHIN
November 3, 2-5 PM
On the Edge with Lily Chin - 2-5 PM
A class to help intermediate knitters discover ways of adding
interest to garments, be they hand made or store-bought!
Proficiency Level: Intermediate.
Fee: $60.00
NOTE:Homework is Required: Information will be supplied to you upon
sign up as well as a list of required materials.

Class 2
Reading Japanese Patterns - 6-9 PM
Lily will explain how to read the charts and patterns in the Japanese
pattern books that enchant everyone.
Fee: $60.00

NOVEMBER 5/TANIS GRAY*
5:30-8 PM
Whenever possible, we like to focus attention on some of the young new
designers that are breathing energy into our industry. Tanis Gray. a
talented designer who, until recently, was an editor at SoHo
Publishing (the folks who bring us Vogue Knitting, KnitSimple ad knit.
1) will be at Knitty City to discuss her experiences in the world of
craft publishing and design. Following this free talk, Tanis will
conduct a workshop on one of her popular hat patterns: Eowyn.
Discussion: FREE
Fee for the HAT Workshop: $40.00
CLASS LIMIT OF 8 people - So please sign up as soon as possible in
order to avoid disappointment.
