Subject: Kaffe Fassett @ Johnson Art Museum, October Happy Hour, & Upcoming Classes

Hi Stitchers:

Fall is here and I am picking up fall knitting projects:  I'm working on a
stranded yoke *Aspen Leaf* (a single pattern, Spun-Out 23, by Meg Swansen)
in *Berroco Ultra Alpaca* for my mom.  I have two vests in progress in my
purse for Ryland: one in *Prism Merino Mia* and *Schaefer Lola*.  They are
little, quick, and good for on the go.  We have a sample vest at the shop.
The pattern is going through a final round of test knitting, and will be
published as a free pattern shortly.  Lastly is a bulky Jacob wool pullover
for Steven in *Rowan PureLife British Sheep Breed Chunky*, which I started
last year ;-)  The pattern is from Rowan's excellent *The British Sheep
Breeds Collection* booklet.

So, what is *your* fall project?

*Kaffe Fassett to Speak @ Johnson Art Museum This Thursday*

Kaffe Fassett (Yes, *the* Kaffe Fassett) is to speak at Johnson Art Museum
at Cornell this *Thursday, September 24, at 5:15 pm*.  His quilting workshop
on Saturday is completely full, but his talk on Thursday is open to the
public.  See Johnson Art Museum's web
site<http://www.museum.cornell.edu/HFJ/calendar/calendar.html>for more
details.

Note: *my Guided Projects class on this Thursday is canceled* so I can
attend this talk like everyone else....

Come to the next Happy Hour on
*Friday, October 2, from 5 to 7 pm*

Join us for this social knitting time, meet some new people, re-connect with
others, and just hang out. We’ll chat, knit, gossip, stitch, wind down after
the long work week, and shop this month’s Happy Hour Sale! We will not be
offering any knitting instructions or help, just a knitting visit…. The
event is free. First come first serve. We have seats for approximately 15
people. Feel free to bring a snack or drinks to share!

Details for the October Happy Hour Sale will be announced here a week prior
to the event.
