Thanks for setting up this forum, I just wanted to announce the new
version of Unype 0.2:

------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://unype.com

Unype 0.2 is now out:

Unype 0.2 provides a multi-user Google Earth experience using your
Skype account:

* you can see online users around you inside Google Earth

* you can see all online users under 'Temporary Places/Unype Users'

* you can specify your own avatar ( any Collada file that GE
supports )

* you can click on users' avatars to get more information about them,
add them, chat or talk with them.

* you can insert 'shared models' when you are connected with a user.
This is useful when you want to show someone a model interactively.
You can even specify Google 3D Warehouse page links, Unype will
extract the 3D model info from that page link.

* you can synchronize your layer visibility settings to make sure that
you are seeing the same layers

* of course you can still follow/lead other users

One of the first things you may want to do is 'pick an avatar for
yourself' in the 'Options' dialog and also specify a scale ( such as
10-20 ) so that you can see your avatar from relatively high
altitudes.

Congratulations unype.
I was following the discussion on the deletion of feature in Temporary
folder. Have you found out the way to do so?

Thanks! And no, I have not tried that yet. I'm sure it would be
addressed in the next release of the API :)
cheers,
M.

Hi unype and ti3209,

unype, I know you were hesitant about the HWNDs issue but this is just
a temporary solution until the COM API provides a better way to
iterate thru places. I had problems with COM API using some of the
routines for the TREE. It didn't work for me early on so I abandon the
COM API and did something as a need for my stuff more than to exploit
it for others. It's a Win32 application callable from the command line
or from an application. It's removal task isn't as fast or efficient
as call from the COM API but I show it gets the job done for the
removal of the temporary places while I am developing stuff.

If you guys ( unype and ti3209 ) want to test the little app for the
temporary place removal, then just post on the GE Forum a personal msg
to me.

Regards,
IDEVFH
