Hi all,

Google Groups has a cool feature called Pages, which allows user
edited content. I'd like to set-up pages for various 3rd party
applications related to KML, so that you can showcase your work. I
wanted to talk to you about about the best strategy for that.

So the big problem is, I don't want to allow the creation of any page,
for fear of spam. So, what I'd like to propose is that I create a Page
that is editable by any member of this kml-support. This would be a
"Links to 3rd Party Applications" page. If you want to request a page,
you edit the page to include something like [My
Application:www.myapplication.com]. When I checked that page, I would
look at the website, make sure it's a relevant application. I would
then create a page for that application, and change the text to a link
to "My Application". You could then edit the page for your
application.

How does that sound?

Hi ManoM,

Great idea but would you perhaps include a developer using the Google
Blogger as well for a product description and other referenced links
on the blog pages be ok ? To me, this would help restrict the post
cluttering on the Google Earth kml-support-third-party-applications
page that may be redundant to questions relating to that 3rd party
product or project. IMHO

Sounds like a great idea, a directory of third-party apps.
cheers,
M.

OK, so I'll create the page and make it editable. People can post
links to their own web pages, and/or ask me to create a page for your
application.

Hi ManoM,
Could you show an example of what a page would typically look like ?
I guess I not understand the basics of what the page could host beyond
a link such as images or formatted text description of product ...etc.

Thank you for your time !

Hi ManoM,
I look at the 1st comment you made about the page you'll provide for a
developer.
I believe I have a clearer picture now, sorry for not reading the 1st
comment with alittle
better understanding, my BAD !

Could you correct the link signature that you've provided to add the
page?

Regards,
IDEVFH

Hi IDEVFH,

Correct the link signature? You mean this link?
http://groups.google.com/group/kml-support/web/third-party-applications
Unfortunately, Google Groups doesn't give the ability to edit posts.
Hopefully this one comes out better. Groups, I think, cuts off after a
certain length.

It looks like you edited my Third Party Applications Page. So I
created a new Third Party Applications page and linked it to your new
page.
