SertTurk,

I helped you out before (here); however, the grids that you provided this time are missing too much information. The format of the grids you provided could be UTM or MGRS. I don't have enough information to determine.

UTM should have a grid zone (two digit number) and the easting and northing should be in the format # ##### E ### ##### N.

MGRS would have a map sheet designator (two letters) and a Grid Zone Designator (two numbers and a letter). Turkey covers 8 different Grid Zone Designators: 35S, 35T, 36S, 36T, 37S, 37T, 38S and 38T. It is probably covered by more than 60 Map Sheet designators. Each Map Sheet is 100,000 m by 100,000 m.

Also, there should be a datum. Examples: European 1950, WGS 84, etc..

If you have any more information, can you please post it? If you don't have any more information, can you post a placemark in the general vicinity of these geometries?

I will try and convert these based on a guess of their location.

Hello again,

I did not think you would still be around. No matter what I do,I can not make the converter work right. I must be map retarded. Thank you for trying to help again, I really appriciate it a lot!

All the Y coordinates(the ones on the left) have the number 5 in front of them. And all the X coordinates( the ones on the right side) have 41 in front of them. I did not think it would make a difference so I left them out...

i.e.
Y=548970.000
x=4133280.000

The datum or other questions I dont know as nothing on the map but only this: Tuhum 1959

I hope it means something. This is a problem with my GarminMap60 GPS also. Last time you have created a KML file and it is perfect in Google Earth but as soon as I import them to my Garmin, it shows me on the water. I think last time you have mantioned it should be UTM. I choose that in the GPS but the other setting must be wrong so it showes be walking on the sea. I could not find the TUHUM 1959 under datum fields either...

SertTurk,

I converted the UTM Grids to Geographic (Lat/Long) assuming WGS84 for the datum. I could not find "Tuhum" anywhere. What does "Tuhum" translate to in English? egg, ellipsoid??? The only datums I could find for 1959 was "NSD: North Sahara 1959: Algeria" and "HEN: Herat North, Afgahnistan 1959", but I don't think these were correct. Let me know how far off these grids are, and I will try and find the correct solution.

Hope this helps.

p.s. X is usally used for the East/West value, and Y is used for the North/South.

x = 5 #####
y = 041 #####

It is perfect, exactly like on the map. I dont think TUHUM is a Turkish word. I have no idea what it menas but that is the only writting along the sides. Tohum means sead in Turkish but never headr Tuhum,sorry!
Thank you again for helping!
