Subject: Error: Region in KML file not getting filled

Hi,

I am working on a data given to me by a customer of ours. When we convert
the data into corresponding KML through our software and then open it
through Google earth, the region is outlined but is not filled. Please note
this happens only for a region and not others. And also note, we do set the
proper attributes (e.g. <fill> inside <polystyle>). I will paste it for you:

*<visibility>1</visibility><open>0</open><Style><LineStyle><color>FF000000< /color><width>
 1</width></LineStyle><PolyStyle><fill>1</fill>
<outline>1</outline><color>FF80FF80</color></PolyStyle></Style><Polygon><ex trude>1</extrude><altitudeMode>clampToGround</altitudeMode><tessellate>1</t essellate>
*

Also to verify if the kml generated for the region is correct or not, we
generated KML file from another software but that also shows same issue.
And to make it doubly sure that the region doesn't have any issues, I ran a
software utility to cross check that the region didn't have the following:
1.) Self Intersections,
2.) Overlaps and
3.) Gaps

I am not sure now why the region is not getting filled. Is this a known
issue and is there any fix/workaround for it?

Regards,
Saurabh

At a guess this is a winding order issue. Try reversing the order of the
coordinates for the polygon.

Thanks Barry for the reply. Tried doing it but it didn't help. The region
still comes unfilled.
