Referencing KMLs relative to historical time line.

Hello. And thanks to whoever reads this post.

I've just started creating custom KMLs using text editors. I'm
learning alot and see many possibilities, here.

I would like to know how to reference my KMLs via the time slider with
the historical tool. What this would do is show various products and
coverage areas on a year-by-year basis.

If anyone can explain how to do this or what code to use or include in
my KMLs, please let me know.
