= WALKING THE PATH UPDATE – GIFTS-IN-KIND MAKE A DIFFERENCE =

Gifts-in-kind are gifts of materials or labor that can be used toward our new construction project. Every cash donation reduces the amount of money that we need to borrow. The same is true for donations of labor and materials. When a donor is able to donate their talents or supplies, we again reduce our indebtedness. In addition, we know we are getting quality service, because the donor has a personal connection to KML and this project.

If you are interested in making a full or partial donation, or know someone who might be interested, please contact Matt Burow with Catalyst Construction at ma...@catalystbuilds.com or 414-727-6840. The donor does not need to be a member of the Kettle Federation, but simply interested in making a positive impact on this project.

= CALL MEETING =

The KML General Board will hold a special Call Meeting on Monday, January 23, 2012, at 7pm.  Agenda items will include extending a call to replace Pastor Moldenhauer who will be retiring at the end of the school year, making the one-year English call into a permanent call, and an online curriculum proposal.

= JUNIOR MEETINGS =

Mr. Zeamer and Mr. Sievert are currently meeting with the juniors to discuss the results of the PSAT that they wrote in October and their future plans.  Each of the juniors is receiving a folder containing a wide variety of information to help them with their planning.  Parents of juniors, you may be interested in having your students share this information with you.

= TUITION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE =

The Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School Federation recognizes that the cost of Christian secondary education has the potential of being a challenge for some families.  Accordingly, the Federation has established the KML Tuition Assistance Program.  The program is designed to help families meet the cost of this great blessing.   The monies come from many donors and foundations, including the KML Foundation.  Applications are available online at  www.kmlhs.org/tuitionassistance .  The deadline to apply is March 15, 2012.  The KML Finance Committee will determine the assistance distribution by mid April.  Feel free to contact Jody Hansen, KML Business Manager, at 262-677-4051 x1109 or jody....@kmlhs.org if you have any questions.

We will post Saturday hours on our website at www.kmlhs.org/scrip .

= NEWSPAPERS NEEDED =

The KML Academic Bowl team is in need of copies of the Fond du Lac Reporter from February 1 to March 1 this year.  If you can help out, contact Mr. Kuehl at tim....@kmlhs.org .

= HELP WANTED - BUS DRIVERS =

KML is in need of responsible people that would be interested in driving a school bus to games and co-curricular events.  The school will assist in setting up the needed training and the cost of training.  The trips vary in start times, between 2:00 and 4:30, depending on the event and returning after the event.  The job pays $10.00/hour.  Please contact Jody Hansen, KML Business Manger at 262-677-4051 x1109 or jody....@kmlhs.org for more information.

= PRESENTATION SERIES – THE PLAIN PEOPLE…MENNONITES, HUTTERITES, AND THE AMISH =

Our Savior Lutheran Church in Grafton would like to invite you to The Plain People…Mennonites, Hutterites, and the AMISH! There is a certain fascination that we have whenever we think about the Plain People, especially the Old Order Amish.  We know many of them live in Wisconsin, and there’s no way they can be missed while driving the back roads of Ohio, Pennsylvania, and northern Indiana.  Even Hollywood has been intrigued with the Amish lifestyle. Who are these people?  Where did they come from?  Why do they live like they do?  What is their religion?  Why did their lives seem to stand still at a moment in time?  How do they explain the strange contradictions in their use of the automobile, electricity, or the telephone?  What does their future look like?  Join us for a series of exciting presentations at 7 pm on Wednesday January  25, February 1, and 8 as author, and speaker Reynold Kremer takes us on a fascinating trip into Amish country.  We will take a close look at the history, worship, religion, and especially the customs of The Plain People: the Mennonites, Hutterites, and AMISH!
