Hi all,
On Sunday March 8, Virginia Bary, Kathryn Cotton and I ran the
season final Butte Valley raptor survey. Rough-Legged and Ferruginous
Hawk numbers were, as would be expected, down, but eagle numbers were
very good with Shady Dell and East Butte Valley Roads hopping with eagle
activity. There is an active Golden Eagle nest on a platform on the west
side of Highway 97 across from the airport.
