Sorry if it seems like there isn't much response from us about your
plight. Although, according to your problem like BIOS not loading, most
likely it is a motherboard issue.
Also, I was quite surprised that you were able to have RAID 5 when your
OS is only Windows Vista/7 Ultimate. Usually only the Windows Server
series comes with software configured RAID and supports up to RAID 5.
Which only means that your current RAID 5 setup is done by a RAID
controller from your hardware.
Only way I can think of for your problem is to have another PC
(motherboard) to setup with RAID 5 on its RAID controller and just hook
up your 3 1TB Harddisk to the 2nd PC. So from then your Windows should
be able to boot. I do recommend that you backup everything inside there
to your NAS.
Just a bit of note, I would recommend that for the next time around,
instead of going for RAID 5, just go RAID 1. RAID 1 mirrors the data
from 1 hard disk to the other. So should another problem like this
happen, you can always unplug out 1 hard disk and set it up normally
instead of going RAID. You can't do that with RAID 5 because the data
is not mirrored to all 3 hard disks. It uses a different kind of
recovery system that rebuilds the data to other hard disks should 1 of
them fails.

you should be fine with the Printer since the drivers is usually
available. Just a matter of compatibility sometimes.
As for the scanner, I'm not so sure. Have to depend on the model and if
there's a driver for it.
For the camera, as long as you use it just to transfer pictures between
your PC and the camera, it is fine. If you use a special photo
management software that comes with the camera, usually that kind of
program only works on Windows.

I myself as a canon user do manage well with shotwell,the latest repo update that is. About the bios, have you tried removing the battery for a few minute?

They concentrate a lot on Windows market only, so most printers/scanners
if there's a driver
for Linux it won't really be optimized (certain functionalities will be
missing). You'll have
to try your luck with Canon.
A contact of mine in Canon told me the same thing.
Anyway you can try checking this http://www.openprinting.org/printers for
your printer compatibility
with Linux.
