Each year the City of Kirkland hosts Neighborhood University
("Neighborhood U") as a learning opportunity for Kirkland residents.
On Tuesday, December 8, learn about the State Growth Management Act,
how it guides city-wide and neighborhood planning for the future, and
how residents can become involved in the planning process. Kirkland’s
Comprehensive Plan and Neighborhood Plans are developed through public
input and visioning to identify the City’s ability to accommodate
future population growth and development through goals and
strategies.
On Wednesday, December 9, learn about neighborhood planning, including
a status on the Lakeview and Central Houghton Neighborhood Plan
updates. Participants will discuss how to improve the neighborhood
planning process.
The sessions are free but participants are encouraged to register by
emailing
reserv...@ci.kirkland.wa.us or calling Neighborhood
Services at
425-587-3011. Participants will receive a certificate for
completing one or both sessions.
