Hey everyone!

I just joined the group and I'm very excited at the prospect of
another kinkforall event in New York. I would love the help in any
way possible. As a side note, I have a good bit of experience with
video editing. So if we wanted some promotional videos or just some
short videos, over-viewing the event, I would love to help with
that.

Hey Justin,

Awesome to hear of your interest in helping KinkForAll NYC 2! Right
now, there is just the beginnings of plans being laid down. KFANYC2
has an advantage as it's being organized by Sara Eileen and some of
the crew that did the first KFANYC, plus we already have funding left
over from the last NYC event that I'm currently holding in escrow. I
think that a date and a venue still needs to be chosen. (Obviously the
LGBT Center is a possibility.)

As for helping out, we don't yet have much in the way of video, but if
you have any other graphical skills we can certainly use poster
designs. That's not to say you can't do something with video, just
that I don't know what that would be yet. But hey, if you come up with
something please share it with the rest of us! :D

Sara, Viviane, Calico, StacyCat, you guys are listed as unorganizing
KFANYC2; what can Justin help you with most right now?

Hi guys!

What do we need help with? Umm... a date! I feel like that's the first
step, venue second.

I say September, either a Saturday or a Sunday. I would like the end
of September, so that all the students will have settled in, and the
Burning Man folks have come back to town, etc. We don't have a date
for Dark Odyssey Summer Camp yet, which could prove a conflict -- but
I think having KFA opposite DO would not be a bad thing.

Can you guys look at your calendars and answer for me: Does September
work for you? When?

They go hand-in-hand. If you come up with a good venue option first
then you can see what dates are available. This is what the KFA
Washington DC folks are doing and it seems to be working well.
Alternatively, you can also come up with a date first and then scout
for good venues for that particular date, like KFANYC (the first) did;
that's how we ultimately chose The Center. Either way, the one
constraint gives focus to the other.

September will be difficult for me to get to personally, but don't let
that stop you—just get an Internet connection so I can watch!—and I
can see some specific advantages to having it early in the school
year, especially for the younger crowd. I would also say that *late*
December is better than early december for that very reason, and
moving to October is not a bad idea either (although that's 6 months
from now, so maybe you NYC guys don't want to wait that long). :)

Hey all,

I agree with Maymay, finding a date and choosing a venue *do* go hand
in hand. However, I think that a September time frame might be great
to shoot for, provided we're all willing to stay flexible and move
ourselves around if a better option is presented.

I'm confident that we could make KFANYC2 happen more quickly if we
all really wanted to, but I think with Boston and DC events coming
up, that bit of extra time will not go amiss. It would also be great
to have the next event during the school year so that the large
college contingent can continue to be a part of the event.

So, with that idea in mind, our next step is venue! For starters, I
would like to hear feedback on the Center from previous participants.
Do we want to go there again, or look for a new venue entirely?

For my part, I would absolutely be willing to work with the Center
again, but if (and only if) we can manage a better Internet setup.

Cheers,
Sara Eileen
