State-run cos to cut aviation fuel price by up to 3,239 rupees/kL
Thursday, Jun 5
NEW DELHI - State-run oil marketing companies will cut aviation
turbine fuel prices by 3,000.42-3,239.41 rupees per 1 kL effective
today, a senior Indian Oil Corp. Ltd. official said.
"The cut is due to reduction in customs duty on aviation turbine
fuel to 5% from earlier 10%. The benefit has been passed on," the
official told reporters.
Earlier, on Jun 1, oil marketing companies had raised aviation
turbine fuel prices by 10,839-12,375 rupees per 1 kL.
This led to increase in air fares by several private airlines
including Kingfisher Airlines, Deccan, Jet Airways and SpiceJet.
Among the four metros, the maximum cut is in Chennai, where
aviation fuel price will go down by 3,239.41 rupees per 1 kL and the
