Agri growth up by 3.5%: Economic Census

Growth of agriculture during 2007-08 will be significantly increased
to around 3.5 per cent from the advanced estimate of 2.6 per cent,
Pronab Sen, chief statistician of India said today.
"Revised estimate for agriculture will be raised by around 0.7-0.8
percentage points", Sen said.
The revised estimates of national income for 2007-08 is scheduled to
be released on Friday. As for the advanced estimate, GDP grew by 8.7
per cent during the same year.
