Most Traded Shares: Ranbaxy; Reliance Industries; Suzlon; BHEL

MUMBAI - Ranbaxy Laboratories topped the most traded shares today
in
terms of value, data on National Stock Exchange's Web site showed
today.
The total value of Ranbaxy shares traded today stood at 16.4 bln
rupees,
helped by news Japanese drug major Daiichi Sankyo acquired controlling
stake
in the company. The deal was valued at 737 rupees per share.
Ranbaxy shares ended marginally up at 561 rupees.
Bharat Heavy Electricals rose 7% to be among the top Nifty gainers
today
after the company got a 10-bln-rupee order from Oil & Natural Gas
Corp.
Index heavyweight DLF ended 6.7% up at 512.15 rupees on short
covering
after the stock fell over 7% in the last two sessions.
FMCG shares fell on profit sales after rising in the last few
sessions.
ITC declined over 1% to 199.50 rupees.
Reliance Industries, Larsen & Toubro, Bharti Airtel, Reliance
Capital,
and ICICI Bank, Suzlon Energy were the other most traded shares by
value
today.
IFCI, Chambal Fertilisers, Nagarjuna Fertilisers, Steel Authority
of
India, and Ispat Industries were some of the actively traded shares in
terms
of volume.
