JSW Steel May crude steel production 347,000 tn, up 19% on year

JSW Steel Ltd's crude steel output increased 19% from a year ago
to 347,000 tn in May, a company release today said.
On sequential basis, crude steel output rose 22%.
In May, the company's flat-rolled steel product output grew 9% on
year to 255,000 tn, while long-rolled steel product output grew 22% to
32,000 tn.
The company's hot strip mill will be shut from Thursday onwards
for capacity expansion to 3.2 mln tn from 2.5 mln tn.
The mill is likely to be recommissioned by Jun 30.
At 11:52AM, shares of JSW Steel were at trading at 1,120 rupees on
National Stock Exchange, up 2.7% from close Monday. End
