Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., the country's largest carmaker by

at 61,247 vehicles.
Maruti Suzuki had sold 59,917 units in the same month last year.
Sequentially, however, sales have fallen almost 11%.
Hatchback sales during the month rose 0.3% from a year ago to
37,767 units.
Maruti Suzuki sells Alto, WagonR, Zen Estilo and Swift models in
the
hatchback segment. Hatchback sales comprise over 60% of its total

The company's domestic sales in June rose 0.7% on year to 56,411
vehicles.
Total sales during Apr-Jun, the first three months of the current
financial year, stood at 192,584 units compared with 169,669 during
the corresponding period last year.
Passenger car sales during June rose 0.2% on year to 55,899 units.
Sales growth in the mid-size car segment, Maruti's main draw in
the last one year, rose 48% on year to 5,807 units mainly on account

In the multi-utility vehicle segment, sales grew 156% to 512
units.

Although Delhi-based dealers had said the shutdown would result in
despatches being delayed, Maruti Suzuki officials said there would be
no disruptions in despatches from the plants.
The company has three plants in Gurgaon and one in Manesar in
Haryana.
At 10:53AM, shares of Maruti Suzuki were trading at 610.90 rupees
