First, my congratulations for Keepnote, I very useful and smart tool.

Secondly, here is my request (or suggestion :-)

Some note taking tools (tomboy, tiddlywiki, ...) automatically create
a new page if the user click on a link that doesn't match any existing
page. It's very useful, when writing a text, to mark future subjects
to be developed as links, and, later only, to write matching pages
starting from these links.

NB : Currently, Keepnote 0.6.1 launch the web browser (looking for a
file://user_document_directory/link_url) when a link doesn't match any
existing page, event if the link hasn't a protocol header (like http://
or ftp://).

I have thought about this. I am still trying to figure out how the UI
would work. For example, how should the user tell KeepNote where to
put the new page? TomBoy (AFAIK) keeps all pages in one namespace (no
hierarchy) and so does not have to worry about "where" to put the new
page.

Hi Matt,

In my opinion, the new page should be created in the same namespace
(ie same folder) as the current one (like a "sister page") and be
titled by default with the link's name (the one entered in the "url"
textfield). So, it would be fluid and simple. However, later, the user
can move or rename the page if needed.

Perhaps, a dialog box could pop up the first time this feature is used
to confirm the user really wants to create a new page (with a checkbox
like "remember my choice" that can be changed later in "Keepnote
Options").

Not a bad idea :)
