Forwarding answer from kde-edu list, apparently another Ubuntu 8.10
translation issue.
Just as a suggestion, maybe we should close the google group and use the
kde-edu list for these questions? It is useful to involve other people
from the KDE Edu project, if it is not a problem to people following
here. But there might be drawbacks that I am not aware.

checked with kturtle from recent stable:
german environment and command language, all examples work like a charm, no
translation issues.

checked with kturtle from recent trunk:
english environment and german command language, all examples work like a
charm, no translation issues.

i18n or i18nc does not make any difference.

The KDE-Translations in Ubuntu 8.10 are a complete desaster.
Install the appropriate translation deb from debian and it will work.

I've tested the suggestion Burkhard. Installing a package from Debian experimental indeed fixes the problem.

About closing the list, that's fine with me. I'd like to know Cies's opinion about this since he was the one who started the list.

Sure, maybe some people just want to receive information about KTurtle.
Generally I think that for bug reports the kde-edu list can give us
better results, as we can enlist the help of other KDE developers. As an
example, Patrick Spendrin (one of the main KDE Windows developers) is
active there, and could possibly help us debug the KTurtle translation
issues we are seeing. Another solution is simply to post to both lists
when there is a bug report than needs more "eyes".

I removed the Ubuntu "kde-l10n-el" package and installed the Debian experimental
I have Greek commands in Ubuntu 8.10 now.

Thanks a lot !!!

What about the same problem in Windows version?

good to see the problem is solved.

regarding closing the list:
i'm happy with the list. there is involved people on it and it allows
unsubscribed-ones to post. it give me (and niels iirc) tight control
over the list, control we dont have in kde-edu's case.
if there is really and 'edu' matter we can put it there (aswel), but
so far what issues have been real 'edu' matters?

so: i think closing is not a good idea. i would even suggest every
kde-app to have a list (or a forum -- there is not much difference
anymore i'd say) of their own. imo: this list work pretty well so far.

but this is just my opinion..
let's see.. if people really wanna close it, we can do it, no problem.

ciao!
