CONFIRMED TOURNAMENT

Star Wars Tournament – The Prequels 250

There will be a DCI sanctioned tournament on Saturday February 28th, 2009 at 31st Century in Olathe. 31st Century is in the SW corner of the intersection of 151st Street and Murlen. Phone # is (913)397-7706.

We will begin Setup and Registration at 4:00 . Rounds will last 60 minutes. We will play Gambit rules. Maps will be randomly chosen amongst DCI-legal maps.

This 250-point tournament will follow normal faction rules with the following restrictions. Each piece used must be arguably from Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3 or either of the Clone Wars cartoon series. Any version of a unique character may be used, howbeit, still subject to faction rules. For example, any version of Anakin Skywalker can be used because the character was in the movie. No character will be allowed to use the override special ability. Any questions about squad building restrictions can be discussed here, or addressed before the tournament begins.

Yes.   I have tentatively planned a release tournament for the actual release date:
 
Tuesday March 17th.     
 
I have yet to present this to the LGS-owner, but I doubt it would be a problem. 
 
 
The reason I chose Tuesday is that (unfortunately) Wizards released this set during March Madness, otherwise I would run it on the Saturday.    Another player and I would not be available on that Saturday.
 
Also interesting that the release date (March 17th) is the same day that a prominent SW novelist is in town signing books.   The right hand doesnt know what the left hand is doing!     :)

This tournament will follow all normal rules for limited tournaments. Each player receives two boosters from which they will construct their squad. The entry fee will be $22; a great deal for two boosters. Because of this discount, there will not be any guaranteed prizes. We thought this would make the tournament friendlier and increase the players who come. So, come enjoy the new set, and do some trading!

Wow, sorry about that, guys... button placement and fast fingers don't work well together all the time. This is Phill, and I think I should at least be able to get out there tomorrow, perhaps with Jess in tow. I've tried to poll around the group we play with on occasion and hopefully I've roped Randy into coming with.So there's anywhere between 0-3 of us coming out, in all hopes. Looking forward to seeing the new Thrawn's stats too :D ~Phill
