Summer Book Club

1–14 of 14
Welcome to our Summer Book Club! We've built this group around Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, but anyone is welcome to join our reading circle. Since most of us are connected with the seminary, we will be working around the school's basic schedule for the summer. The goal is to encourage ourselves to read books we may not have read on our own, as well as keeping those of us in school reading at least something while we're on break.

This group will be our main discussion area. As moderator, I will regularly post questions for us to answer. Everyone is free to start discussion topics on each book, although we ask that if you're comment fits under a previous topic you not create a new one, so we can limit the number of threads (and make discussion easier).

We will read three books throughout the summer. The specific books haven't been decided, a few options have been posted below. The reading schedule for the summer is as follows:
Book 1 (classic novel): May 9 - June 11
Book 2 (philosophy): June 12 - July 16
Book 3 (history of KC): July 17 - August 20

If possible we'll be able to meet all together after each book and discuss what we thought of it. We hope this will be a fun time of entertainment, relaxation, intellectual growth, and fellowship.

Happy reading!
