November 15 is PEN’s International Day of Imprisoned Writer
On this day, Karapatan and SELDA will hold a protest action in front of theDepartment of Justice in Padre Faura, Malate, Manila tomorrow, November 15, 2012 @10am to call for the release of political prisoner writers like Ericson Acosta and Alan Jazmines and the freedom of the almost 400 political prisoners all over the country.
A Writers’ Forum sponsored by Philippine PEN, Free Ericson Acosta Campaign (FEAC) and Contend-UP will also take place from 1:30-3:30 PM at the UP Manila Little Theatre. Invited speakers and guests include Nat’l Artist for Literature Bienvenido Lumbera, PEN Philippine Center Vice Chair Elmer Ordoñez, and Jun Cruz Reyes of PEN Writers in Prison Committee, among others.
