August 3, 2007, New Delhi, which is supported and co-organised by
Department of Information and Communication Technology (DIT),
Government of India and UNDP, and organised by CSDMS.
It is our pleasure to introduce e-Agriculture 2007 Conference
(www.eINDIA.net.in/eAgriculture), which is a part of eINDIA 2007- the
biggest ICT4D conference and exhibition in Asia. e-Agriculture 2007
assumes its prominence in light of the recent structural changes in
agriculture and the overall increasing role of ICTs in making relevant
agriculture services and solutions available to the farmers and
improving agriculture knowledge exchange.
Recent years have also witnessed an increasing synergy between ICT in
agriculture /e-Agriculture with education and capacity building,
eGovernance, community radio, and common service centres for
disseminating agriculture related information to farmers and
connecting experts with farmer. Keeping this in mind e-Agriculture
2007 is being held parallel with e-gov India 2007, Digital Learning
India 2007, Indian Telecentre Forum 2007, e-Health India 2007, m-Serve
India 2007, Community Radio India 2007.
e-Agriculture 2007 promises participation of key policy makers,
corporate stakeholders, researchers, civil society organisations, ICT
professionals etc. working or interested in domain of agriculture &
allied fields. The event is conceived as an opportunity to share
knowledge and experiences, debate and discuss a way forward to make
best use of ICT for an integrated development of agriculture sector.
