I just started up my first Web page, and posted some photos, text, and
diagrams about an exhibit device I designed while at the Museum of
Science in Boston.
It's an Array Electrometer based upon LEDs and JFETs. Hold a charged
object near the panel, and the patterns of dark and light LEDs give
a crude picture of the surrounding e-field.
Even single electrometer elements (an FET, LED, and 9v batt) are pretty
interesting to play with. Take a look:
