I am a secondary, visual arts teacher and have written a proposal to
offer a fundamentals level 3-D art course at my school, that will begin
in the Fall of 2007. I have a fairly solid curriculum laid out for the
course, I hit the VAPA standards for CA throughout, projects seem to be
introductory level, the elements and principles and art history are
embedded also. In an effort to make sure I have as strong a course as
possible, I am wondering if anyone would be willing to share a
favorite/unique 3-D projects appropriate for grades 9-12, any good
resources (ex: web sites, books, suppliers, etc...), and any insight
into successes and struggles using various 3-D based media (ex: do's
and don'ts of using plaster for a 3-D sculpture carving project) I am
eager and excited to receive feedback. Thank you in advance to anyone
who takes the time to respond. By the way, I teach Art Fundamentals,
Advanced Studio Art, AP Studio Art, and IB Art (usually HL), so if I
may be of assistance to anyone I would be happy to share anything I can
from my end.
