Value of Art Education?

Hi--
I've just posted a similar message in the art
newsgroups, but I want to contact classroom teachers, too.
I'm working on a research project for an elementary
methods class. My topic is The Value of Art Education in the
Elementary School Curriculum. This class is the last I need to
be certified to teach art K-12, and in addition to the
"scholarly" and psychological sources that I'll be using, I'm
also interviewing teachers to see what impact they feel that
art ed has on elementary school kids.
