I hope you don't mind me interupting your conversation. I'm hoping
to exchange letters with a keypal, and you sound like an interesting
person. I also love to read, though I seldom read horror stories.
Could you recommend your favorite horror story to me? I'd like to try a
really good one. Right now, I'm reading nothing but biographies. Our
librarian thinks I'm weird (He really likes it, though.).

How old are your sisters and brother? I have two sisters and three
brothers. I'm number three.

I'm in sixth grade at Spinning Elementary in Puyallup, Washington.
It snowed a little today, and everyone freaked out. I don't suppose
people in your town get very excited when it snows, huh? How much snow
is there on the ground right now? What's the temperature? It's 34
degrees here. Warm, right?

Happy birthday to you,

Happy birthday to you,

Happy birthday, Dear Theresa,

Happy birthday to you!

(You'll have to use your imagination for the music...I hope you
receive this in time for your birthday!)

Greetings from Hamilton, Ontario! I'm an eighth grade student at Burkholder Middle School. I'm using the computer in my rec room to write this message to you. I'll gladly be your keypal, what's your name (I'M SO SORRY!) I'd love to have a friend in Washington!

Cheryl! My hobbies are reading and music. I also like indoor activities as well as outdoor. The weather here is terribly out of season. You're just like me, big vocabulary-telecommunications-I hope to be a photojournalist in the future!
CB>> Where do you live? Is there a lot of snow there in winter? I
CB>> think a lot of Americans (including me) think of Canada as a cold and

There's a lot of snow, but this year has been upside down! Pinatubo, I'm gonna kill you! But, "Mon pays est hiver" (My country is winter) so it's ok. We have to learn French unless if you're an immigrant and you've just started English! Not as bad as Northern B.C., Prince George where our friends live. -30C! Brrrrrrrr!
Stay Warm from your HamiltOntario Connection,
Vi!

Dear Sara, We are students at Oceanlake Elementary and we were wondering
if you were Andy Young

Hi, Tracy! I just read your message on my local (Tacoma,
Washington) bulletin board. I'd love to have a keypal in Michigan! All
I know about Michigan so far is that the Great Lakes freeze solid every
winter. That seems pretty strange to a person like me who lives where
it hardly ever snows. Whenever it snows here, lots of cars slide into
the ditches because people here aren't used to driving on slippery
streets.

You said that you like to go shopping. Where do you go? Are you a
"mall rat"? We have a new mall near my house, but it's not a popular
place to hang out yet.

Do you live near the YMCA, or do you have to bum a ride to get
there? What do you do at the Y? Play basketball? Is there a swimming
pool? There are two high schools in Puyallup (where I live), so it's
easy to go swimming any day but Sunday.

By the way, I'm a sixth grader at Spinning Elementary. My whole
class is looking for keypals on the bulletin board, and we're all
excited about hearing from people in different areas. "Even though
we're different, we're really all the same."

I'll look forward to hearing from you, Tracy!

Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday to you,

Happy Birthday, dear Jennifer,

Happy Birthday to you!

.

You'll have to use your imagination for the music. I hope you
recieve this message in time for your birthday on March 5th, and I hope
you have a marvelous birthday!

I'm in sixth grade at Spinning Elementary in Puyallup, Washington.

I'd love to be your keypal if you're willing to exchange messages. Some
people on this echo write short, boring messages. Yours was
interesting; that's why I chose you. I hope you'll write to me, too.

Why do you have so many teachers? Are you in a middle school?
What grade, sixth? I wish we were organized for middle schools here in
Puyallup. Being the top grade in a school with a lot of young children
isn't very stimulating. I think many sixth grade students are ready to
be with their older peers, instead.

Have you read "The One-Eyed Cat," by Paula Fox. If you have, I'd
like to hear your opinions about it. If you haven't read it yet, I
highly recommend it. It was a Newberry Honor book (for 1985?).
.

I'll look forward to hearing from you, Jennifer!
