[GSoC] Information on Project Ideas

Hi all,

I'm a final year undergraduate student from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
Having successfully completed my GSoC 2011 project [1], I'm looking forward to participate this year again.
I recently came across K-9 Mail and is really interested in the project. I assume K-9 is applying this year as well :).
I think doing a GSoC project with K-9 will be a great learning experience.

Glad to see that project idea page was updated yesterday.
When the going through the list, I found idea of improving security & privacy [2] particularly interesting since the subject 'Computer Security' (which includes cryptography etc.) that I'm currently taking at University also aligns with this project.
I'm also interested in the idea of Improving message composition.

I checked out the source code, imported to Eclipse and built from source.
These days I'm exploring the source code and trying out the app on my mobile.

I really appreciate if someone could provide further details, resources I have to refer to and the parts of the codebase I should study further regarding above mentioned ideas.
