I tried out an implementation of Archive/Spam folders + direct buttons
for them in the archive-move-spam branch and would like to move that
into the trunk, if you guys are fine with that, or make adjustments if
needed. :)

All this is mostly for Issue 3, where some details and a patch by
barillari can be found, which served as a basis for the change.

new:
- settings to map special "Archive" and "Spam" folders (see
archive-spam-settings_1.png)
- setting to enable a second row of buttons (Archive, Move, Spam)
- setting to make that row scrolling, just like the navigation button
row (both see archive-spam-settings_2.png)
- actions to move to Archive or Spam respectively, also integrated in
the options menu and context menu in the message list

The screenshots show two (of more) possible setups, namely move
buttons fixed + navigation buttons scrolling
(archive-spam-buttons_1.png) and move buttons fixed + navigation
buttons fixed (archive-spam-buttons_2.png).

I think the options allow a useful and intuitive variety of
interfaces, for which there seems to be a demand, and are entirely
unintrusive if the user has no use for them.

Cheerio,
Oliver

I think I'm a fan. Please go ahead and commit it.

Any chance of getting these added to the 'Batch' menus and button
options?

I added batch operations yesternight, that's all in the trunk now.
Only the menu so far, as the batch buttons are all icons and there's
already four of them. Maybe we can just keep this in mind for the
planned icon set, until then the menu should work well.

I noticed the "Spam" and "Archive" options aren't available under the
"Batch Ops" menu when you're in "Unread" filter. For example, if you
enter from the notification bar, or click the envelope icon in account
view...

I can't reproduce this. Do you mean sorting by read/unread or am I
missing something? And I tried to go into the folder via the
notification bar, selected a message, tried batch ops menu, and the
items appear. I also can't find the envelope button.
Perhaps I misunderstand you altogether, can you give me a little
step-by-step how-to? :)

Cheers,
Oliver
