Live API Player not working as expected?

I am following the instructions on
http://apiwiki.justin.tv/mediawiki/index.php/Live_Video_SWF_Documentation
to create a custom SWF player which I intend to skin through either
Flash or JS.

I am using the code at the bottom of the page to create a swf file
that loads the live video api player, however, when I point it at a
live stream nothing happens. The stream does not load. Any tips /
hints or more detailed tutorials on this available?
