Live API Player not working as expected?

I am following this tutorial http://apiwiki.justin.tv/mediawiki/i..._Documentation to create a custom SWF player which I intend to skin through either Flash or JS. 

I am using the code at the bottom of the page to create a swf file that loads the live video api player, however, the stream will only stay active for a couple of seconds, at which point it shuts off. This would be around the time a commercial would generally start in my experience. Any tips / hints or more detailed tutorials on this available?
