how to download file from server to browser

Hello everyone,
I want to known that, is there any way in servlet/jsp to give download
option to client to download any file(Ex. PDF,Doc,etc) to there hard
disk .If there ,then please tell me.

I was also searching 4 this thing..but in basic HTML u can use 

<a href="abc...pdf">Download</a>

I used this one & it works well...so try it..

If u get sumthing new  & adv tech..plz fwd to me
