Oracle Welcomes Sun Users Group Communities!

Oracle extends a warm welcome to Sun Microsystems users groups and
customer
communities worldwide.

On January 27, 2010, Oracle announced that our agreement to acquire
Sun
Microsystems had closed, having met all regulatory and other
conditions
including approval by Sun's stockholders. This acquisition is
consistent with
our strategy of offering complete, open, and integrated solutions. We
believe
that combining best-in-class enterprise software and mission-critical
computing systems will add significant value to our customers.

Over the coming months, Oracle and Sun will be combining into a new
organization focused on delivering an integrated system – applications
to
disk – where all the pieces are engineered to work together. We're
looking
forward to the new opportunities this acquisition creates to optimize
performance, security, and reliability across the entire stack.

Oracle has a rich history of interaction with independent users
groups. Since 1985,
the network of communities has grown to over 450 groups representing
more than
250,000 customers. The groups meet regularly with Oracle to share
ideas, best
practices and to discuss issues that are common to all users groups.
We now look
forward to working with an extended community that includes the Sun
network of
users groups.

We're meeting with a group of advisors from each Sun users community
to help us
plan future activities and services for these groups. In the meantime,
expect
business as usual, with access to a consistent set of resources that
will assure
continuity for you: Java, OpenSolaris, LTUG and MySQL.

Stay informed by checking out http://www.oracle.com/SUN for answers to
any of your
questions about the acquisition, or feel free to email
mary....@oracle.com or
nichol...@sun.com with any questions you may have.

Once again, welcome to Oracle.

Sincerely,

Jeb Dasteel
Senior Vice President & Chief Customer Officer
