Dear all jugcam'er,

I'm building 2 language website using joomfish, I wrote an article in Khmer language and published, but when I switch to English page I saw Khmer title showed in English page. I want to hide Khmer article by selected option There are no translations available : Default text, but it's still show Khmer title of article with date. The problem is that I want to hide all if not translated.

Who can help me please??

Special thank,

Dara

Dear Dara,

A few questions for you:
- what's your site default language?
- do you have a URL to provide so we can look at it and better understand the problem?
- I'm also not clear about the exact problem and what you want (it seems they are 2 questions in your email)

Thanks.

Fred

Dear Frederic Muller,

My site default language is Khmer. If I don't have translation in English, when I switch to English page I want hide it that will not show in front page layout or other layout by using Joomfish, but in Joomfish I can't find any options to do this. So do you have any ideas to solve this problem?

Please check out the problem in attachment pictures.

Thank,

Dara

Dear Dara,

First you can call me Fred ;-) . A quick google search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ei=0IsoS43DEpWekQXUkIz1DA&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&ved=0CAYQBSgA&q=hiding+untranslated+content+in+Joomfish&spell=1 ) will give you a few answers:
- There is a plugin to do that which is currently only for Joomfish subcribers (paying customers for Joomfish)
- You can devide the articles into language categories and have the menu buttons (including home) point to different sections or articles. I am not sure how this works with module such as popular article and such...
- Use 2 instances of Joomla!, one for each language. I did that in the past as I had conflicts with Joomfish and the content was a bit different. Not that hard to quick it synchronized in fact and does the job very well.

Hope that helps.

Hi again,

In the translation of your menu you have the choice (at the bottom of
the page) to indicate a different link. Joomla! links embed the section
and the category in it (well their numbers), so you could modify that
link for your target language to point to a different category.

This is in the Components/Joomfish/translation and then you need to
select menu and your target language to see those menu items.

Bottom part of the translation screen..

Here the home page points to the same content (but translated - or not)
but you can modify this link to anything you want, which in Joomla!
section and category would look like
index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=7&Itemid=12

Hi dara,

It seem i understand your problems. you have two problems:

1- it show "There are no translation available". you want to hide this word. you can do it by go to
Components --> JoomFish -->Control Panel  then click on button Parameters then on the first list box"What to show if there is no translation available" then select The original content --> then Save.

2- when in Khmer it show only one article but in English it show many article. this error because article parameters is different from Khmer and English. to solve this make sure in Joomfish article translation  all parameters for Khmer and English Article are the Same. in each translation article please find the Label:Attributes under this you should notice the Original and Translation attributes are the same.

cheers

Dear Dara,

In fact it simple, you just go to:
Extensions -> Plugin Manager
Then disable the Joomfish - Missing_translation

And that it!

Cheers!!!
