Dear Peggy,
Remembering your “Journalism that Matters” initiative and knowing your sympathy with the Occupy movement, made me think that you might be able to help us to connect with progressive journalists (including in mainstream media) to help getting the word out about an important new initiative I’m involved with, called “The Future of Occupy,”
See: <http://thefutureofoccupy.org/about-2/> and <http://thefutureofoccupy.org/about-movement-sense-making/> .
We hear a lot from the media that Occupy doesn’t have a vision, strategy, any long-term thinking, etc., which is partially true but there’s a growing recognition of that lack in the movement and at most of the major Occupy sites there are individuals and working groups that started giving attention to those issues. “The Future of Occupy” collective is providing a mirror to the movement’s emergent, self-organizing collective intelligence about its future.
Doing so, we also intend to provide media professionals and citizen journalists with a one-stop portal of curated news and views reflecting future-responsive trends in movement. We will have monthly thematic issues, the first of which, dedicated to the Future of Assemblies, will come out the first week of January. We want to alert the media about it with a press release.
Peggy, if what we do resonates with you, could you provide us with the names and email addresses of those whom you think we should contact, and/or advice about what would be the fastest way to obtain such a list.
((hug))
