Hi JTM - I know a lot of you have already booked tickets to Denver, and I can't wait to see you at the JTM pre-conference and at our event. (Thanks to Bill, Peggy and everyone working on the JTM event which looks terrific.)

We just posted the complete list of sessions for the National Conference for Media Reform: http://conference.freepress.net/ncmr-2013. I'm happy to talk to anyone who is interested or has more questions about the conference. Give me a call and let's chat and strategize about what you can get out of NCMR.

Here are some highlights:

Stellar presenters: Journalists like Brian Stelter, Amy Goodman, Eric Deggans and David Sirota. Sportswriter Dave Zirin. Jezebel.com founder Anna Holmes. Innovators like Dan Gillmor, founding director of the Knight Center for Digital Media Entrepreneurship and Eli Pariser from UpWorthy. Scholars like C.W. Anderson and Robert McChesney. Plus a host of artists, actors, comedians and policy makers.

Great sessions (this is just 4 of 60 session total):
  • The New Watchdogs: Holding Power to Account. In Washington and around the country, a new generation of journalists is reinventing watchdog reporting. Learn about projects designed to hold power to account from city streets to the halls of power.
  • Making Media, Making Change: Journalism That Seeks Solutions and Solves Problems. This session will explore how solutions-oriented journalism can enhance a community’s capacity to solve its problems.
  • Media, Technology and Crisis. Learn how new tools — from crowd-sourced mapping to civic hacking to live-tweeting to interactive journalism — have created new challenges and opportunities in moments of crisis.
  • Independent Journalism on War, Conflict and Human Rights - This session will address obstacles facing journalists trying to cover U.S. foreign interventions, security and conflict.

The conference is organized into six separate themes: journalism and public media; culture, creators and media makers; Internet freedom, technology and innovation; policy and politics; social justice and workshops/tech and media playground.
